Abstract

Monkey and ape sera were examined by immunofluorescence for the presence of EBV antibody. Antibody was detected only in Old World monkeys and apes. None of the New World monkeys were found with this antibody. Gorilla and chimpanzee sera were almost always positive with relatively high titers; about 50% of the Old World monkey sera were found to have this antibody.
