Abstract
In this report, we describe an unsual clinical course preceding acute syphilitic posterior placoid chorioretinopathy that demonstrates the importance of appropriate clinical testing for syphilis. The patient complained of waxing and waning visual symptoms for several months and demonstrated subtle fluctuating white spots (similar to MEWDS) prior to developing more characteristic findings of syphilitic chorioretinopathy.
