Abstract
We report disseminated mycosis in a pug and a giant Schnauzer dog caused by two Talaromyces species. The pug presented for respiratory distress and lymphadenopathy and Talaromyces pigmentosus was found in multiple organs at post mortem examination. The giant Schnauzer presented for chronic kidney and gastrointestinal disease. Subsequent visits identified Talaromyces boninensis infection with concurrent lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. This is the second report of disseminated disease by T. boninensis and the first report by T. pigmentosus in veterinary medicine.
