The authors regret the discrepancy between the abstract and the main text with regards to the duration of the acid challenge. While the abstract mentions a daily 2-minute acid challenge, the main text (Section 2.4 and Table 2) refers to a daily 2-hour acid challenge during the pH cycling phase. The error is in the abstract; the correct duration was ‘a daily 2-hour acid challenge’. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
