N2 - The importance of adequate colon cleansing in preparation for diagnostic and surgical procedures cannot be overemphasized. Diagnostic accuracy and safety depend on good bowel preparation. Patient compliance is a major determinant of cleansing adequacy and, therefore, simplicity and ease of preparation are a concern. PEG-ELS is efficacious, safe, and well-tolerated, and can be recommended as a preparation method whenever colon cleansing is necessary. For colonoscopy and elective colon surgery, PEG-ELS has achieved widespread acceptance and use.
