Abstract
A patient with a squamous cell carcinoma arising in an epiphrenic diverticulum is presented. This is an unusual occurrence which was suggested from the esophagram. This case is even more unusual than the few previously reported cases, in that the carcinoma appears to involve the mouth of the diverticulum without destruction of the adjacent esophageal wall. A review of the English language literature is presented.
