Balloon dilatation of the prostate for treatment of benign hyperplasia

Abstract

Transurethral balloon dilatation of the prostate is a new nonsurgical technique for the relief of obstructive hyperplasia. The procedure is technically simple and is performed under topical anesthesia and sedation with minimal morbidity. Early results are encouraging.
