Abstract

1. 1. Arginine vasotocin (AVT) stimulated the release of both luteinizing hormone (LH) and prolactin (PRL) from normal hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) anterior pituitary glands in a dose-dependent manner. 2. 2. AVT significantly augmented the depressed level of PRL release from pituitaries of blind-pinealectomized animals. 3. 3. LH release from the pituitaries of blinded hamsters was inhibited by AVT while FSH levels were unaffected.
