Abstract
A safe, simple test that helps to distinguish kidney from bladder infections is described. The technique utilizes a direct immunofluorescence procedure to detect antibodycoated bacteria in urine sediments of patients with urinary tract infections. Antibody coated bacteria are found in urines from patients with kidney infections but rarely in urines from patients with bladder infections.
