Abstract
The mitochondrial electron transport complexes were analyzed using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry (MS) molecular masses of the complexes, cytochrome c oxidase (CcO) and cytochrome bc 1, were determined for the investigation on the oxidative damage to electron transport proteins. Prior to MS analysis, DM was exchanged for the detergent in the protein samples by dialysis. The addition of DM to solution of CcO and Cytochrome bc 1 was found to aid in detection of all subunits of the complex proteins.
