An improved dilator system for percutaneous nephrostomies

Abstract

An improved dilator system that allows the safe introduction of large tubes into the kidney or biliary tract for stone exctraction is described. The dilator is made of flexible polyurethane and is reinforced by an ultrathin Teflon sleeve that remains in place for the extraction.
