Abstract
Isolated iliac artery aneurysms are uncommon and frequently remain unde tected until they reach significant size. Often their first clinical presentation is with rupture of the aneurysm. Direct surgical intervention has been the usual mode of treatment. Successful treatment of iliac aneurysms by alternative approaches in two elderly, debilitated patients is reported. Extraanatomic bypass and catheter embolization were used in both resulting in a minimal in-hospital stay for the patients without morbidity or mortality.
