Abstract
The multilocular fat cells of brown adipose tissue of the mouse show an age dependent change to the unilocular fat cell type. This change starts immediately after birth and continues throughout life. This morphological change can be correlated with the animal's age dependent decrease in tolerance to a cold environment.
