Abstract
The enzymatic method for glucose determination in plasma or serum using hexokinase/G6PDH in “end-point reaction” was adapted for glucose determination as the first rate reaction in blood hemolysate on RA-1000 autoanalyzer. The method was found to be linear; precise, sensitive and accurate. Recovery of control samples ranged between 97.2 % and 100.2 %. Coefficient of correlation between the proposed method in hemolysate, and enzymatic-polarographic and enzymatic-colorimetric methods was 0.99 for both. As the method does not require sample centrifugation, it is strictly specific and rapid, appropriate for daily routine, especially for use in emergency laboratories or where individual glucose findings are urgently needed.
